Obliteride 2025: Support the Fight Against Merkel Cell Carcinoma

The Nghiem Lab and the Merkel Cell Carcinoma (MC3) Institute are proud to once again participate in Obliteride—a bike ride and 5K walk/run fundraising event hosted by the Fred Hutch Cancer Center. This year’s event will take place on Saturday, August 9, 2025, in Seattle.
Our team has set an ambitious goal to raise $50,000 in support of advancing research and expanding treatment options for individuals diagnosed with Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC).
We invite you to support our mission by joining our team, “Skin in the Game,” or contributing through a donation. Whether you’re participating in person or virtually, your support plays a vital role in driving progress.
*Registration is 50% off through the end of April!

Support the Mission to Cure MCC
The MC3 Institute, led by Dr. Paul Nghiem, is a global leader in Merkel cell carcinoma biology and translating scientific discoveries into improved patient care through new therapies.
Philanthropy is essential to accelerating this work and improving the lives of patients and their families. Your support helps advance our mission: "We collaborate to cure Merkel cell carcinoma."
Funds raised by our team directly support key priorities, including:
- Supporting two full-time Clinical Research Fellows who help MCC patients manage their cancer and treatments
- Conducting clinical trials using innovative combination therapies that have the potential to improve survival
- Publishing and updating national MCC treatment guidelines based on data-driven research
- Educating patients and caregivers through merkelcell.org and outreach events on evolving care strategies
- Sharing de-identified data and samples with MCC collaborators worldwide to advance global research
Every dollar raised goes directly to supporting MCC research and clinical care. We hope you’ll consider joining us (in person or virtually) or making a gift to support this vital work.
